Prevent Injuries and Accidents in the Workplace with Safety Manbaskets

However important the job is, personnel safety should come first both on the ground and aloft. Safety manbaskets provide for the safest way to lift workers off the ground so that they can perform repair, or maintenance or whatever their task is. There are a lot of risks related to off ground operations and it’s important to take all possible measures in order to ensure maximum safety for the personnel.

Every business owner is concerned with minimizing the number of on-site accidents and ensuring a healthful workplace. Whatever you do to provide safety on the ground there’s no better safety solution for off ground application than a safety manbasket. Being much safer than ladders and scaffolding, safety manbaskets feature a safety chain and a door designed to prevent the workers from falling out.

Basically there are two types of safety manbaskets: forklift-mounted and crane baskets.

Forklift-Mounted Baskets

Forklift-mounted safety manbaskets are a type of forklift attachments designed to ensure personnel safety during off the ground work. The lift’s forks slide into the slots at the bottom of the manbasket securing the basket to the forklift and ensuring stability and safety of operations. The height at which the basket can be lifted is limited by the specifications of the forklift it is used with.

Shopping tips

When choosing a fork-mounted manbasket it’s important to make sure that the slots are long enough to provide for firm positioning. A locking door and harness hook-up are required to keep personnel from accidentally slipping out.

Crane Baskets:

Crane baskets are also designed for off ground operations but they are lifted by a crane rather than a forklift. Heavily employed in mining and building industries crane baskets are made for heavy-duty application. Since they are designed to be lifted much higher than forklift-mounted ones, crane baskets should meet more safety requirements and need to be tested before every usage.

Shopping tips

When shopping for crane safety manbaskets you need to make sure that they have all the required standard features such as self-closing front door that swings inside the basket, roof, and quality hook loops that safely secure the basket to the lifting device. A safety harness hook up is also required. Using the one that would allow attaching the harness anywhere within the basket is much more convenient for the workers.

OSHA Regulations

All safety manbaskets are required to meet safety regulations set by the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This agency is responsible for the enforcement of safety and health legislation.
Doing your job well is important, but it is even more important to stay safe while doing it. By using quality safety menbaskets you can make sure that your staff will get down to the ground safe.
